Settling In Part 2 Photo Addendum

As my settling in progresses, I’m adjusting to the change from a house in the suburbs to an apartment in the countryside.

My new jogging vest. I’ve traded neighborhood
streets for country roads where jogging at 0-dark
hundred requires more than my smile to glow.
Nearby railroad tracks. I’ve traded the quiet
suburbs for a railroad that rolls by, blowing
its whistle at any hour--yesterday around 3:00 AM.
Animal tracks...through a tree? I’ve traded deer, fox and
squirrel tracks in the snow for some tracks I just can’t figure.
An old weathervane. I’ve traded the familiar
for--Oh look at that old weathervane on
the rusted barn vent!
