True, these are not your run of the mill pets or animals you’d see around most houses or apartments. But they’re not very furry, the photos are great (thank you, Rachel -- www.rachelphilipson.com), and you can always become a member of a zoo’s fan club.
Our closest zoo is the National Zoo (http://nationalzoo.si.edu/), where members become Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ).
